What better way to spend a dull Saturday afternoon than learning about the village, we have lots to keep you occupied.
Since the 1921 census was released, Chris Shaw has been working hard to add all the extra information to the biographies of the village combatants of World War One, this is some 185 people. He has also added a page about Government Instructional Factories, as well as a comprehensive summary sheet of the service men and women. This is a truly amazing piece of work and I would encourage everyone to have a look and tell others about it. It started as a desire by Chris and Carol to record and honour all those of the village who served in the First World War. Chris and Carol, I think we can say you have done them proud. Thank you.
As part of our Houses project we have added the first houses on Church Street. Church Farm and Church Farm Cottage. Thanks so much to their present owners for all their help. We are delving deeply into the Street and hope to be adding more very soon.
We have also added to the building section with Southrepps Hall ,this fascinating building has ties back to the Duchy of Lancaster.
As always if you can add to our knowlege don’t hesitate to contact us.
